How to Host a Plaid Group Ride

•

Pick a route, pick a café, and ask everyone to wear plaid.

A themed ride is the easiest way to get a quiet club ride talked about. People show up for the theme, stay for the coffee and post the photos. Here's how to run a plaid ride, start to finish.

1. Pick a no-drop route

Choose a loop of 30–60 km that everyone in the club can finish together. A no-drop pace keeps the group in one place, which matters for the group photo. A coastal road, a river path or a quiet country loop all work.

2. Set the dress code

"Wear plaid" is all the invitation needs. Plaid jerseys, plaid bibs, a plaid cap, even a scarf tied to the saddle bag. Riders without a plaid jersey can join in with plaid socks. The Scotsman jersey and Scotsman bib shorts (sold separately) cover the full look.

3. Plan the stop

Book a café halfway round and warn them a group in plaid is coming. A good stop is where the stories start, and where you take the photo.

4. Take the photo

Line everyone up against a plain wall or an open view, bikes in front, plaid facing the camera. Take a wide shot and a close-up of the jerseys. Then share it: tag @corbahcycling and we'll repost the best ones.

5. Make it a regular

Once a season is enough to make it a tradition. Vary the theme now and then: we also wrote up how to host a black-tie group ride.

Kit up the club

Every Corbah kit is made to order and delivered in 5–6 weeks, so order a few weeks before the ride. Customization (a name, text or logo) is usually free. The jersey is $89.95 and the bib shorts are $99.95, sold separately; buy them together and 10% comes off the bibs at checkout. Check the size guide first. We don't do returns or exchanges, but if the size is wrong you keep it and can order the same item in another size within 15 days of delivery for about 20–60% off.
